On June 24, 2010, Ferndale Police Officer Kenneth Jaklic stopped Laszlo Latits for a wrong turn. Officer Jaklic testified that he saw one or more bags of marijuana when Latits opened his glove compartment to retrieve registration and insurance documents. Dashboard camera footage showed that Officer Jaklic raised his gun and pointed it at Latits’ head. Shortly afterward, Mr. Latits drove away to avoid an arrest.
